This is the first segment of our new series, “Worldwide Beauty.” In it, we talk to our global partners who help make Klairs a success in countries all around the world.

What started out as a small Seoul-based skincare brand, Klairs has now grown to serve as a skincare remedy to individuals in over 70 countries, with partners in more than 15. Now, Klairs is starting to make tides in Norway, and sisters Suzanne Enger and Helene Eliza can take a large portion of credit for this. As Korean Beauty has just planted their fresh roots in Norway, the sisters were among the first to actively promote the Korean mindset on skincare, emphasizing the importance creating an effective routine backed by products you can trust.

While Norwegian women do enjoy spending time and money on keeping up their appearance, the sisters search for the perfect skin care lead them around the world to Korea. “We love to try new products, and when we first read of Korean skincare, we thought: “Wow, this is a completely new way to think of skincare.” the sisters said.

However, trends like the “10-step routine” weren’t as accessible to them and many other Norwegian women because of the drastic change it was in comparison to their long-held take on skincare. “Most Norwegians are used to using one cream for the morning, and one at night.” That is why Klairs, with their gentle but effective products, caught their eye. “After using the products over time we were just more and more satisfied. We were actually so satisfied that we thought “We must get Klairs’ to Norway!”.”

While it will be a slow process introducing and incorporating Korean cosmetics into the mainstream, the two sisters have no worries. “Klairs provides something new to Norway.” Products like oil cleansers were a foreign notion, but the simple and natural take Klairs had on the sometimes crazy world of K-Beauty appealed to the Norwegian public. The Gentle Black Sugar Facial Polish and Gentle Black Sugar Charcoal soap rose as best-sellers for their innovative take on combining natural elements, like black sugar, directly into cosmetics.

And the rest is history. The two sisters, working endlessly with the same drive and motivation to renew the Norwegian public’s view on skincare, soon found success. “The people who have tried Klairs love the products.” Because of the range of choices: bar soaps, sugar scrubs, sheet masks and more, interest continues to peak, and social media is now starting to flood with mentions of Klairs in Norway. “So far, we’ve only received positive feedback and already have return customers.” the sisters continued.

“The good feedback shows that Klairs is here to stay.”

We spoke with the two sisters regarding their stance on Korean Beauty, how they discovered Klairs, what it’s like working together and future hopes for Klairs Norway. Read on to find out more!

How did you discover Klairs?

Susanne discovered Klairs during her search for effective products suitable for sensitive skin. She needed something to soothe her irritated skin, and was not happy about the selection available in pharmacies. When she discovered Klairs, she fell in love with the brand philosophy “Simple, but enough”. Because of Klairs multifunctional products, it made it easy to establish and follow a skincare routine, even for Norwegian women. Susanne’s skin loved Klairs from day one, and soon it became my [Helene’s] favorite as well.

Did you have any mentors or any memorable words of advice?

We are so lucky to have loving, supporting friends and family. Our philosophy? “Never sell something you would not sell Your best friend”.

What is it like working with your sister?

Working together as sisters is the best. We know each other so well, and we’ve actually worked together before. We are 100% honest with each other, and if we disagree on something, we always figure something out.

In one sentence, what aspect of Klairs do you think appeals most to the Norwegian public?

High-quality products and great results at a reasonable price.

Why did you want to bring Klairs to Norway?

It felt like we had found a hidden secret with Klairs. The search for the ultimate skincare products was over, and of course we couldn’t keep this secret to ourselves. We wanted to share this with the Norwegian people!

What is your personal favorite product from Klairs?

Susanne: The Freshly Juiced Vitamin C Serum. It is the first Vitamin C serum that I can use, even with my sensitive skin. After a few weeks I could see the results. My skin texture has improved, and it evened out my skin tone and made it brighter overall. I love it!

Helene: It is hard to choose just one, because they all work so well together! I would have to say my personal favorite is the Supple Preparation Facial Toner. I’ve never used toner before it but now I can’t live without it. It soothes, gives plenty of moisture and absorbs in no time.

In essence, you guys are Klairs’ brand ambassadors in Norway. How does this make you feel?

We are very proud! We feel honored and happy for this opportunity, and can not wait to build Klairs in Norway.

Where do you see Klairs in Norway in 5 years?

Our goal is that Klairs will be available for purchase  in chain stores as well as through online shops. Klairs will be the number one choice in Norway when it comes to skin care.
